Going Gray

Going Gray

Thinking of letting your natural gray grow in? This process can be intimidating, and and some wonder where to even start?! The client in this photo has been having their hair professionally colored a level 4 (dark brown) for many years. To help her get to her gray roots, we did a full foil of lightener (twice), treating with Olaplex, and toning with an ash toner. Depending on the starting depth of the hair dye, origin of the hair dye (is it professional or box color on there?), this can take several visits with your Stylist to achieve. This particular client has come in every 6 weeks since starting the “going gray” process to refresh their toner in order to keep their new lightness from looking blonde. We don’t touch up any of her new growth, because the goal is for all her hair to eventually be her natural growth. This color change can take some patience, and it’s important for your Stylists to put the health of your hair first, rather than rushing the process and risking irreparable damage.
